I love the idea - It is fun, It is retro, It is Glam, It takes 6 pictures at a time, It has a crushed velvet Curtain, a padded luncheonette style stool and IT is RED ( My Favorite Color )
IT is NYC Photo BOOTH. I have always been a big Fan of the PhotoBooth's machineries - I used to stop By in a Bar on Park Avenue South with Friends just to have our picture taken !! I haven't been for a while - Too Busy - Is it still there, I wonder!

How Green Was My Wedding

Have You heard of a so called "organic" catering company or an "Organic" Bouquet , even a new online site, Portovert.com, made its appearance last month, catering to “eco-savvy brides and grooms.” And an ECO friendly wedding Guide published in Brides magazine. WAH !

I love those words specially when they are used by companies in the US who offer Eco friendly services to Eco Friendly Brides!
I just read an article published in the New York time by MIREYA NAVARRO - Title goes by : " How Green Was My Wedding "
Simply is Wonderful to find out that Vendors inn the wedding industry are participating to create a better World!
"... Use hydrangeas, berries and other local and seasonal flowers for her bouquet and the decorations, instead of burning up fuel transporting flowers from faraway farms. Design an organic autumnal menu (same reason). Find a vintage dress to avoid the waste of a wedding gown that will never be worn again.

“It’s well worth it to start your life together in a way that’s in line with your values and beliefs,” said Ms. Harrison, 28, a graduate student at Yale, who is to marry in October. “You don’t want this event that is supposed to start your life together to come at the expense of the environment or workers in another country.”

Call Ms. Harrison the anti-Bridezilla, whose wedding is all about the planet, rather than “all about me.” People in the wedding business say the eco-friendly or “green” wedding has arrived, its appeal having expanded to spur a mini-industry of stores and Web sites offering couples biodegradable plates made of sugar cane fiber and flowers grown according to sustainable farming practices...."

A Conscious Wedding is a Meaningful, Creative, and Loving Event

I was pointed to a very interesting wedding website for a change! The website is named conscious weddings.
Here are a few words which sum up the driving theme behind such a meaningful title.
A Conscious Bride is a Calm, Joyful, and Present Bride.
A Conscious Wedding is a Meaningful, Creative, and Loving Event.

THE website is the continuity of a book projet written by Sheryl Paul- The Book is called "The Conscious Bride"



When asked, most people will say that their wedding process included as much chaos, grief, and confusion as joy and bliss. Yet they also felt that they had to keep those emotions hidden. Because expression of the "darker" side of the wedding is not encouraged, women and their families commonly transfer the difficult emotions onto the planning of the event. It is not uncommon to emerge from the wedding bewildered by the tension and anxiety that surrounded their day.



It is time to bring the wedding's shadow into the light and help women and their families understand what is happening to them. This book and consequent website is a wonderful success in helping the couple and relatives going through a blissful wedding period ! Before, During and After ....



I will send this book to a few of my bides as a thank you present. If you know anyone getting married soon, That might be a great idea !

A pathway to Heaven - Church Le Corbusier

World of Interior is publishing a story by Antoine Baralhe this month - Antoine photographed Le Corbusier's Final Project- The Church of Firminy -I met up with Antoine at Cafe Charbon in Paris yesterday and I saw the photos - they are stunning - Well worth buying a copy of the world of Interiors this month !



Any LOVERS of Le Corbusier's Architecture getting married this Year should consider the Firminy Church. It is located close to the town of St Etienne in France. Even if it hasn't been consecrated in accordance with Catholic ritual. A simple metal cross crowns the truncated cone on top of the slanted roof, where square-shaped and round "light cannons" direct the rays of the sun inside. The interior, only indirectly lit by slit-like gaps in the façade, is dominated by a pulpit, a chapel and an altar. Behind them, on the eastern side of the building, light falls through three dozen fist-sized openings. Massive perspex cylinders, built into the 22 centimeter (8.6 inch) concrete wall, form the constellation Orion.

Paris judge orders designer John Galliano to pay photographer William Klein damages

It might seems that i am getting carried away on this post- This Blog is about photography and Spc Weddings - This is about an ICON of 20 century photo-journalism. Born and raised in N.Y.C, William Klein has lived in Paris for the past 30 years - I was horrified when i heard that Galliano blatently stole Klein's Image Identity a while back !! Just like the Gucci and Prada conterfeit that are being produced in China -

And here the story goes !
PARIS: A Paris judge has ordered ,fashion designer John Galliano to pay American photographer William Klein €200,000 (US$271,000) in damages for copying Klein's work in a recent ad campaign, judicial officials said Thursday.

In his March 28 decision, Judge Claude Vallet said Galliano's advertisements too closely resembled Klein's hallmark "painted contacts" — oversized painted contact sheets streaked with stokes of vivid color.

The five ads — which appeared in March in French Vogue and Elle magazines, as well as several other publications in Britain and Russia — featured three enlarged contact print images of models, highlighted with colored brushstrokes.
Vallet said the ads clearly violated intellectual property laws because Galliano never asked Klein's permission to use the style, which the New York-born photographer developed more than a decade ago. He ordered Galliano, who designs for French luxury house Christian Dior as well as his own label, to pay for the verdict to be published in the magazines in which the ads appeared.

Galliano's lawyer had argued that the ads did not constitute plagiarism because their images did not look like those from Klein's work. Galliano has appealed the decision, in an attempt to lower the fine, judicial sources said.

In an interview in Thursday's Le Monde daily, Klein said he was "hurt" by Galliano's appropriation of his style.
"I am bitter because this glaring plagiarism represents an inexplicable slap in the face to my work," he said.

Garter in the US, Suspender for the Brits and Jarretelle en France

Yes, the garter toss is time-honored--it got its start in medieval times. Guests would rip and tear at the bride's clothes to snag a piece of the fabric, which was thought to bring them good luck. Often, the bride would strip off her stockings and garters to throw to the pack so she could escape. (Yikes!) Fortunately, guests have become more civilized through the centuries. Now, the groom strips the garter off the bride to campy stripper music, then tosses it into a pack of salivating unmarried men.

But the garter tradition has started to lose favor recently. Great shame for photo Opts ( thinking about myself now; the Photographer ) - It is always a very fun Moment to photograph - an I love traditions - Regardless, in case you prefer to ax this ritual from your reception repertoire, but still want to do something, you can opt for one of these less titillating alternatives, using a garter or a bouquet: Toss a dummy garter and leave the real one for your own--private--wedding-night striptease. Make the bouquet toss co-ed. Watch all your single friends battle it out for the big prize.


Give the bouquet to your favorite person. Honor your parents or his, a special grandmother or a friend who was such a big help during the wedding planning. Hand it over to the longest-married couple. Have your DJ or band play a special "marrieds-only" song. The band leader or DJ will first ask those married eight hours or less to leave the floor (that means you), then five years or less, ten years or less and so on, until there's one couple left standing. They get the prize--your flowers.
