Wedding photographer France Album Sample

The album presented above is a 10x10 size Asuka wedding Albums.

The wedding ceremony took place at
St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 50 Avenue Hoche , Paris 75008 - The architecture of the church reminds me of Le Corbusier's work at Firmini.

Another Classic wedding photography Look

Posted by Olivier lalin- French, riviera, wedding, photo,luxury+car+rental, getting+married, south+of+France+wedding, classic+black+and white, photographer+Stylish, Villa+Ephrussi+wedding
Just thinking! This shot seems timeless. It was shot a couple of months ago in the South of France! It felt like everything lead to a 50's photo ambiance: the Tuxedo, the Bride's hair style, the Look of this magnificent car. I had to ask the couple to take the pose and just look at the camera peacefully! Still today this image reminds me of the movie "Casablanca"where Humphrey Bogart played the part of Rick Blaine and Ingrid Bergman the magnificent Ilsa Lund.

Trash the Dress in Paris!

Posted by Olivier lalin -
"Trash the Dress: BRIDES NEEDED IN PARIS!"
So the Ads Go even in the City of Light- I am mesmerized ...
I have been asked recently whether i would be interested to photograph what I believe is now commonly called a "Trash the dress session" or an extreme session !
And I was like " HUM, I think you have the wrong number !!! "
But no please call me back... I did some research again and yes it is all over the internet. Call me a Classic, I hope not too old style French photographer.
The tradition of saving wedding gowns for future offspring is being broken.
Modern brides, in the US (as reported recently in The New York Times), are giving up those sugar-plum ideals and opting to roll around in the dirt or pose with guns in their hands. It's all for the sake of a good picture and a lasting memory.
Some Blog are now dedicated to the new trend. You will see some fun images there
trash the dress
and like this website I have been pointed at by a friend more and more wedding photographers are making a great marketing tool out of it !!
The photo below is taken from ALTF photography in California.Love the images, really think it is quite beautiful. I have always been quite adventurous with my wedding photography but there are certains things that you cannot do on a wedding day ( I have realized in my New York City wedding photographic carreer. Regardless, I am going to jump on this new trend and propose my brides to trash the dress afterwards, and sure Paris would be an excellent location, excuse for a sexy week-end and the occasion to come up with some amazing portraits. Remember is it only a few hours away from the big Apple...

Digital photography and CAMERA RAW

Posted by olivier Lalin -

I shoot with Nikon D2X and Always in Raw format rather then jpg - IT is like having a negative with all of the information that you will be able to play with during "digital printing" to bring the image to Life ! You will be able to tweak The Color, density, contrast and retouch the image if needs be. A raw file is indeed comparable to the latent image contained in an exposed but undeveloped piece of film. It holds exactly what the imaging chip recorded. Nothing more. Nothing less.

wedding_portrait_central park_Christo_Sculpture
This means that the photographer is able to extract the maximum possible image quality, whether now or in the future. A good analogy with the traditional world of film is that you have the opportunity to use a different type of developer or development time at any point in the future if one comes along that you think might do a better job of processing the image.- The latitude of a jpg is narrower and only allow you to do minimum corrections to the image -

Kid+photographer+Paris,Kid+photography+Paris,Family+portrait+Paris,Family+portrait+France
I was at Nikon the other day - A photographer was ahead of me, claiming to the sales man that he believed his high end Nikon camera, that he had just purchased, was faulty-
"... The images are Flat, with no contrast and Unsharp ..." he was saying!
Nikon Policy in advance digital photography is to provide the photographer with a Raw format image that contains the most data the chip can possibly record on Pixels. It is for the Photographer to process his images according to his own specifics. And only last to add sharpness according to the final size of the print. Therefore quite important to make sure that your photographer is "Fluent with Raw format"!

My digital workflow is geared mainly around my work as a wedding photographer.I shoot between 1000 - 2000 images at each wedding in the raw file format. I specifically shoot in the raw format for all the well-known advantages, including a fast workflow. So my digital workflow is aimed at getting the best possible image in a fair amount of time … for a huge amount of photographs.

For photographers - if you already have Photoshop CS2, then you don’t need anything more than Bridge and Adobe Camera Raw for your raw workflow. Photoshop just came out with a new CS3 version which runs great on intel - You might want to consider upgrading too

Wedding Photo-journalist Association of America

Posted by Olivier Lalin -

I am a member of the Wedding Photo-journalist Association of America ! I have seen it Grow to become a worldwide organization. I mention it because i read those few lines this morning taken from the WPJA site.

"... The traditional photographer is more apt to mingle with the crowd, talk to people, and interact. It's his or her personality,” he charges. “The documentary photographer is more of an observer, watching people react and interact.”
It’s that observing eye that captures the reality of a wedding — the real moments that you’ll remember years later when flipping through your photos. Does he think that’s a trend? “I believe there is beauty and art in reality,” he says simply..."
WPJA.jpg

Only, i tend to feel that a Good wedding photographer doesn't fall into little boxes that trends, Wedding magazines such as Bride's and the photographer themselves seem to believe in - I would just say that a great wedding photographer is a multi task, talented professional at ease with a crowd, moving in and standing back at appropriate moment as situations require.
There is something else out there - rather then a condensed / cliche version of " The traditional photographer " versus " The documentary photographer " when it comes to wedding photography - I ll just call him " The GREAT wedding photographer "
for now !! I do know a few ...

Paris judge orders designer John Galliano to pay photographer William Klein damages

Posted by Olivier Lalin-
It might seems that i am getting carried away on this post- This Blog is about photography and Spc Weddings - This is about an ICON of 20 century photo-journalism. Born and raised in N.Y.C, William Klein has lived in Paris for the past 30 years - I was horrified when i heard that Galliano blatently stole Klein's Image Identity a while back !! Just like the Gucci and Prada conterfeit that are being produced in China -

And here the story goes !
PARIS: A Paris judge has ordered ,fashion designer John Galliano to pay American photographer William Klein €200,000 (US$271,000) in damages for copying Klein's work in a recent ad campaign, judicial officials said Thursday.

In his March 28 decision, Judge Claude Vallet said Galliano's advertisements too closely resembled Klein's hallmark "painted contacts" — oversized painted contact sheets streaked with stokes of vivid color.

The five ads — which appeared in March in French Vogue and Elle magazines, as well as several other publications in Britain and Russia — featured three enlarged contact print images of models, highlighted with colored brushstrokes.
Vallet said the ads clearly violated intellectual property laws because Galliano never asked Klein's permission to use the style, which the New York-born photographer developed more than a decade ago. He ordered Galliano, who designs for French luxury house Christian Dior as well as his own label, to pay for the verdict to be published in the magazines in which the ads appeared.

Galliano's lawyer had argued that the ads did not constitute plagiarism because their images did not look like those from Klein's work. Galliano has appealed the decision, in an attempt to lower the fine, judicial sources said.

In an interview in Thursday's Le Monde daily, Klein said he was "hurt" by Galliano's appropriation of his style.
"I am bitter because this glaring plagiarism represents an inexplicable slap in the face to my work," he said.
