French Wedding Dresses

Posted by Olivier Lalin -
Vera Wang has been the American Guru of Wedding dresses for the past ten years and most of my brides wear Vera Wang.
Well my heart goes to the French though, not just for the obvious reasons as you might say, "Of Course you’re French too” but also because French Wedding designer Max Chaoul is in a category all by himself! And actually, I do believe he should be the one Disney is going to collaborate with on this new line of Disney Classic wedding Gowns

The first time I photographed his dresses were some 15 years ago and to this day I am still mesmerized by his beautiful weddings dresses. Every season, he reinvents himself. Bravo Max!

More on French style wedding designers later on.

Here is a clip from the most recent Paris show on Wedding Dresses at the Caroussel du Louvre.

Now take a look at some of the special designs from Max below:

Thinking of Max Chaoul Dresses, I've just had a thought for one of my favorite movie: Peau D'Ane by Jacques Demy with Jean Marais and Catherine Deneuvre. It is a French style musical comedy from 1970, based on a children’s story by Charles Perrault which is simply magnificent. www.weddinglight.com
